  14. This source contains the annotation of the GenBank(R) DNA sequence
  15. database (Bacterial Division) - release 64.0

  17. The text contains the loci of bacteridal DNA sequences as well as the full
  18. references to any associated publications and descriptions of any known
  19. features present on these sequences. The DNA sequence is not present as the
  20. test retrieval software can not search this component at present.

  22. At present the data is not kept up-to-date and only represents one section
  23. of GenBank. Please regard this as an experiment in information retrieval.
  24. Your feedback is encouraged and may help define the nature of a more
  25. complete molecular sequence server in the future.

  27. The text is served from a Connection Machine CM-2 located in Cambridge MA. 
  28. The text retrieval software on the CM-2 supports \"relevance feedback\" as a 
  29. means of refining your queries. Both the Mac and X11 interfaces to WAIS can
  30. support this concept. Please experiment with the software and see how it 
  31. allows you explore the data - in particular, relevance feedback offers one
  32. way to deal with ambiguity in biological nomenclature.
